Issue One

£10.00

Here’s to all the genuine innovators out there: the individualists, iconoclasts and idealists, the mavericks and malcontents, the freethinkers and future lovers, those who do it their way, who refuse to conform, fit in or be told. Here’s to those who live life by their own rules – this publication is for you.

The Angels’ Share is a journal about whisky, but perhaps more than that, it is a journal about people: people who are hungry for adventure and experiences, people who won’t settle, who are early adopters, who are inquisitive, who challenge the established way of doing things. The Angels’ Share is a journal about people who grab life by the scruff of the neck, whose glass is always half full (Slàinte Mhath!), who decide to say yes rather than no, who live in the moment but strive for the momentous.

So here’s to Billy Walker, who is still taking risks and taking nothing for granted 50 years after taking his first steps in the industry, and to Nc’nean founder Annabel Thomas, whose distillery is the first in Scotland to declare itself net zero carbon emissions. Here’s to Anthony Wills for daring to build the first distillery on Islay for 124 years, and to Paul Robinson who decided to quit his office job to make a living from the land he loves. Here’s to Abbie Moulton for bringing whisky to a totally new audience, and to the guys from Whisky Me as they strive to be the purveyors of pouch perfection.

What if we all say ‘What if’? They did.

If you live outside the UK you may not see a shipping rate listed for your country. If so, please contact us and we'll arrange the most reliable and cost-effective shipping to get the journals to you.

If you live in the EU please be aware that VAT may now be charged on your order in your country. The EU’s Import One Stop Shop (IOSS) is a VAT registration scheme to manage the sale of goods from Great Britain to the EU that allows taxes to be collected at checkout in the UK so you don't have to pay them at the time of delivery.

Like many UK businesses we have not yet found a workable or cost-effective VAT collection system that integrates with our e-commerce platform. Until we do, orders will be supplied under the existing Delivery Duties Unpaid (DDU) scheme, meaning that you may be charged VAT and/or import duties at point of delivery rather than at checkout.
